There is a strong sense of pride in this small and unique community. The Village of River Hills was founded in 1930 and is one of the smaller communities in Wisconsin with approximately 1600 residents and covering an area of 5.5 square miles.
The population density of River Hills could well be one of the lowest among urban municipalities. When you drive around River Hills you will quickly recognize it is a bucolic Village that blends a sense of community and privacy. There are mature forests and most of the homes are on five acre or larger properties.
Tranquility, security, and feeling of being close to nature are hallmarks of living in River Hills. Many homes are located on the scenic Milwaukee River which offers sport fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. Excellent shopping and restaurants are close to River Hills although there are no commercial properties within the village.
